Greenphones AS – Trade-In Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 17.02.2026
These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of used mobile phones and other electronic equipment ("Devices") by private individuals ("Customer") to Greenphones AS ("Greenphones", "we", "us"). By submitting a trade-in order, the Customer confirms that these terms have been read, understood, and accepted in full.
1. Introduction
These Terms apply to all trade-in transactions between the Customer and Greenphones AS. Submission of a trade-in order constitutes a legally binding agreement subject to inspection and final approval by Greenphones.
2. Trade-In Process
Upon submission of a trade-in order, the Customer undertakes to send the Device to Greenphones for inspection.
Greenphones will conduct a technical and visual assessment, including but not limited to:
* Verification of model and specifications
* Functional testing
* Inspection for physical damage
* Battery health assessment
* IMEI verification
* Inspection for activation locks (e.g., iCloud, Google, Samsung accounts)
The Device remains the Customer's responsibility until received and inspected by Greenphones.
2.1 Platform or Service Restrictions
The Customer confirms that the Device is not subject to any permanent platform, service, or application restriction imposed by third-party providers, including but not limited to Snapchat, Meta, Google, Apple, Samsung, telecom providers, or similar services, due to violations of their terms of service, community guidelines, contractual breaches, or other policy violations.
Greenphones does not have access to software or systems capable of detecting all such restrictions prior to resale.
If a Device is discovered to be permanently blocked, banned, blacklisted, or otherwise restricted in a manner that materially affects its usability or resale value, the Device will be rejected and returned to the Customer at the Customer's expense. No payment will be made for such Devices.
3. Estimated Price and Final Settlement
Any price displayed prior to submission is an estimated value based on the information provided by the Customer.
Following inspection, if the Device corresponds to the declared condition and specifications, the agreed amount will be paid.
If discrepancies are identified that affect the Device's value, Greenphones will notify the Customer with a revised offer before payment is made. The Customer may accept the revised offer or request return of the Device at their own expense.
4. Ownership, Financial Obligations and Legal Declaration
The Customer expressly confirms and warrants that:
* They are the sole and lawful owner of the Device.
* The Device is not stolen or unlawfully obtained.
* The Device is fully paid for.
* The Device is not subject to any installment agreement, financing agreement, leasing arrangement, retention-of-title clause, subscription plan, or any other third-party ownership or security interest.
* The Device is not subject to any outstanding financial obligations with telecom providers, financing institutions, or similar entities.
* The Device is not currently blocked, blacklisted, or restricted, nor subject to future blocking due to unpaid contractual obligations.
If a Device is later blocked, blacklisted, restricted, or rendered unusable due to unpaid financing, breach of contract, or third-party claims existing at the time of sale to Greenphones, the Customer remains fully liable.
In such cases, Greenphones reserves the right to:
* Recover the full purchase amount paid to the Customer;
* Offset the amount against any outstanding claims;
* Require reimbursement of any losses, administrative costs, recovery costs, and consequential damages;
* Report the matter to relevant authorities where appropriate.
The Customer acknowledges that selling a Device subject to financing, third-party ownership rights, or security interests may constitute a criminal offense under applicable law.
5. Privacy and Data Deletion
All Devices received by Greenphones are wiped in accordance with industry standards prior to resale.
Greenphones is not responsible for:
* Data remaining on Devices due to locks, passwords, or restricted access;
* Data loss prior to receipt of the Device;
* Incomplete deletion resulting from technical limitations beyond our control.
The Customer is responsible for backing up and removing personal data prior to shipment.
6. Devices Without Resale Value
If a Device is determined to have little or no resale value due to condition, damage, restrictions, or market factors, the Customer will be notified.
By agreement, Greenphones may:
* Assist with secure data deletion;
* Recycle the Device in accordance with environmental regulations;
* Return the Device at the Customer's expense.
If the Customer does not respond within 14 days, Greenphones reserves the right to recycle the Device responsibly.
7. Customer Responsibilities
Before sending the Device, the Customer must:
* Remove all SIM and memory cards;
* Deactivate iCloud, Google, Samsung, and similar accounts;
* Remove all passwords and activation locks;
* Reset the Device to factory settings;
* Ensure the Device is securely packaged for shipment.
Failure to comply may result in processing delays, reduced valuation, or rejection of the Device.
8. Payment
Payment is made via bank transfer to the account provided by the Customer.
Payment is normally processed within 1–2 business days following completed inspection. Processing times may vary depending on transaction volume, verification requirements, or operational circumstances, provided:
* No discrepancies are identified;
* Ownership verification concerns do not arise;
* No financial or legal restrictions are discovered.
Greenphones reserves the right to delay payment where reasonable suspicion exists regarding ownership, financing, or legal compliance.
9. Limitation of Liability
Greenphones' liability in connection with any trade-in transaction is limited to the agreed purchase amount paid for the Device.
Greenphones is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the transaction.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Norwegian law.
Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts.
